My Role: Technical artist / Character Artist / Character Rigger 

Overview:

As a member of All of It Now, contracted by FRAMEWORX, I had the opportunity to contribute to the Childish Gambino New World Tour. This project utilized photogrammetry, motion capture, character rigging, and real-time rendering to create a high-fidelity digital performance in Unreal Engine 5. The final animation was optimized for real-time playback on the Light Binder, enhancing the live experience. Proud to be part of such a passionate and technically skilled team!

My Contribution:

  • Explored and built a pipeline from single-camera photogrammetry using Reality Capture to UE5 MetaHuman and motion capture animation retargeting.

  • Retargeting motion capture animation to MetaHumans and custom-rigged assets, optimized and exported final FBX to extract data in TouchDesigner.

  • As Character Artist & Character Rigger, created highly photorealistic digital doubles using Reality Capture, ZBrush, and Unreal MetaHuman.

In this breakdown video, I provide a high-level overview of the workflow and pipeline behind the project.
